On June 18th, the Martin Barnes 2026 Awards Ceremony and the New Engineering Contracts (NEC) Global Annual Conference were held in London, UK. CRBC's T4 Trunk Road and Associated Works project won the NEC Highly Commended Award in recognition of its outstanding project management, innovative construction technologies and equipment, and efficient multi-party collaborative working spirit, once again demonstrating CRBC's excellent international engineering management capabilities.

The Martin Barnes Award, established by the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) in the UK, is a top-tier and highly prestigious award in the global engineering and construction industry. Named after Dr. Martin Barnes, the founder of the NEC contract, the award recognizes engineering projects and organizations worldwide that have achieved outstanding results in collaborative project delivery, management innovation, and improved efficiency and quality by adopting NEC's new engineering contract. With stringent evaluation criteria and extremely high industry recognition, it is considered a benchmark award for global engineering contract management and collaborative construction.
As a key infrastructure project in Hong Kong, the T4 Trunk Road projects have extensively utilised NEC's new engineering contract management system during construction. Adhering to the core concept of collaboration and win-win, the project has established an integrated collaborative management mechanism by partnering with the Client, Supervisor, supply chain and other parties. Meanwhile, it has deeply integrated innovation, digitalisation and artificial intelligent technologies. Through digital technology empowerment and management mechanism innovation, the project has effectively solved the challenges of long construction periods, high coordination difficulty and many control points in large-scale infrastructure projects. It has comprehensively improved the construction productivity, quality and safety management level, and created a new paradigm of efficient collaboration and lean management suitable for large-scale infrastructure projects.
